Description
Caramel and tender apples combined collectively in a warm apple crisp. Top with creamy vanilla ice cream for a yummy treat!
Ingredients
- FOR THE SALTED CARAMEL:
- ½ cups Butter
- 1 cup Light Brown Sugar
- ¼ cups Half-and-half of
- ½ teaspoons Fleur De Sel Or Coarse Salt
- FOR THE TOPPING:
- ½ cups Cold Butter, Cut Into Small Cubes
- ¾ cups All-reason Flour
- ¾ cups Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
- ¼ cups Light Brown Sugar
- ¼ cups Sugar
- ¼ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- ½ teaspoons Salt
- FOR THE APPLE FILLING:
- 3 pounds Apples, Preferably Gala Peeled, Cored And Sliced
- 2 teaspoons Lemon Juice
- ½ cups Sugar
- ½ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1 pinch Ground Nutmeg
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400 F.
For the salted caramel:
In a huge deep skillet over medium heat upload butter, brown sugar and half-and-half. Cook, stirring once in a while till butter is melted and sugar has dissolved. Bring to a boil and continue to cook dinner and stir for some other 2-3 mins. Stir in salt. Pour sauce right into a bowl and set aside.
For the topping:
In a massive mixing bowl add butter cubes, flour, oats, sugars, cinnamon and salt. Using an electric powered mixer on medium pace beat until combination is crumbly.
For the filling:
Toss apples with lemon juice in a massive bowl. Add sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and toss to coat.
In a huge oven safe skillet (more or less 10 inch length) soften butter over medium warmth. Add apples and cook dinner, stirring every now and then until just soft, about 10 mins. Remove from warmth.
Reserve 1/4 cup of the caramel sauce. Pour the last caramel sauce on pinnacle of the apples. Evenly sprinkle with crumb combination.
Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes until warm and bubbly.
Serve with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with reserved caramel sauce.
